The following is a partial list of the services provided by the Byron Fire Department for the community:

Fire Suppression Services
The department responds to incidents involving fires and explosions.
Vehicle Extrication
The fire department is trained and equipped to free victims trapped in vehicles at the scene of motor vehicle crashes. The extrication equipment also has the capability to free victims trapped as a result of industrial and construction accidents.
Fire & Life Safety Code Inspections
The fire department performs inspections of public buildings and places of employment under the authority of O.C.G.A. Title 25.
Fire Investigations
Department personnel conduct cause and origin investigations for all fire-related incidents and assist State and Federal agencies in investigations of incendiary fires within the City of Byron.
Public Fire and Life Safety Education
The fire department delivers life safety education at local schools, daycare centers, special events, and as requested by the community.
Non-Emergency Service Calls
The fire department responds to a variety of non-emergency calls for assistance in the community. These incidents include, but are not limited to, animal rescue or removal, lockouts, invalid assists, carbon monoxide alarms, and water (flooding) problems.
Natural and Man-Made Disaster Response
The department maintains a constant state of readiness to respond to natural disasters incurred as a result of extreme weather conditions and as a first-response agency for man-made disasters (e.g., wildfires, explosions, environmental emergencies).
Hazardous Materials Incident Response - First Responder Operations
Personnel are trained and operate to the Haz-Mat Operations level for recognition and isolation and defensive actions at hazardous materials incidents.
EMS - First Responder Level
Rescue personnel are trained to the National Registry First Responder level and provide primary basic care and support for Peach County EMS's emergency response.
